Knocknarea is a visually-striking, 327m tall hill located about 3km away from Strandhill. On the summit of Knocknarea is a large cairn, a man-made stack of stones, 55m wide and roughly 10m tall. Climbing Knocknarea is a very popular thing to do for both locals and tourists in the area, and the views at the top are spectacular. There is a car park at the bottom of the mountain, but you must walk to reach the top of the mountain.
