Killarney is a medium-sized town on the northeastern shore of Lough Leane. The town is currently Ireland’s most popular travel destination and for good reason too. Killarney National Park, the Lakes of Killarney (Lough Leane, Muckross Lake, and Upper Lake), Ross Castle, the Black Valley, and Muckross House help make Killarney the incredibly beautiful town it is today. With the exception of Dublin, there are more hotels in Killarney than in any other Irish town or city. Killarney is rich in Irish history and culture, it was named ‘Best Kept Town’ in 2007, and it was named Ireland’s tidiest and cleanest town in 2011 as well. Killarney is also a popular destination for its fantastic nightlife. Make sure to stop by Killarney during your journey along the Wild Atlantic Way.
