Westport is a very popular town for tourists to stay. The scenery is spectacular, there are blue flag beaches nearby close to Clew Bay, and Westport is only about 16km away from the famous Croagh Patrick Mountain, which offers striking views all around. Westport has won the Irish Tidy Towns Competition in 2001, 2006, and 2008. Westport House and Pirate Adventure Park located close to the town centre and filled with Irish heritage and culture.
